Final Thesis WS2020

08.02.2021, Kaiserslautern: In the Winter Semester of 2020, DTC supervised several “Final Thesis” projects, which are either a Masters thesis or a Diploma Thesis. Some of the projects have been following the general thesis topic of the winter semester, while others have chosen their own challenge fo the thesis. However, all of the DTC supervised projects have chosen wood as the primary material for their constructions.

Benedikt Blumenroeder has chosen the topic of a cultural center for the town of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, about one hour south of Kaiserslautern. Located near the old town, the project enriches its local environment with a “green belt” and accessible green roof. The facade is cladded in local chestnut hardwood.

Phillipp Latzko developed a school project for a site located at the north end of the Tempelhof field in Berlin. Schools are urgently needed in the city and the project introduces innovative “learning courtyards” and links to the existing outdoor sports areas nearby.
